The château de Losse was listed as of national importance in 1928
 Site Naturel Classé
The natural site was protected in 1944. This year.the European Box and Topiary Society chose the garden as « jardin d’exception » together with Brecy and Eyrignac gardens.

The gardens are also listed and were given the label ‘Jardin Remarquable’ by the Ministry of Culture in 2004.
